Hi, I’m Pete.

I am the owner of Supreme School of Motoring and have been a driving instructor since 1987.

After more than 40 years in driver training, I still genuinely enjoy helping people become safe, confident and independent drivers.

I provide friendly, professional driving lessons in Maldon and the surrounding areas, together with specialist support for people returning to driving after illness, injury or a break from driving.

Specialist Medical Driving Support

I provide specialist driving support for people returning to driving following illness, injury or a significant break from driving.

This can include drivers who have experienced a stroke, neurological conditions, changes in mobility or medical and licence-related issues.

Lessons are carefully adapted around the individual. We can work on rebuilding confidence, adjusting to changed abilities and developing safe driving techniques at a comfortable pace.

Supreme is regularly recommended to drivers following specialist driving assessments, including assessments through Drivability Essex.

Instructor Training and Mentoring

As well as teaching learner and experienced drivers, I also train, mentor and support driving instructors.

Over the years, I have helped many instructors develop their teaching skills, improve their confidence and build successful careers within the driver-training industry.

I also support trainee instructors preparing for their qualifying tests and experienced instructors wishing to develop their coaching and professional skills.

Do you teach nervous drivers?

Yes. I have many years of experience helping nervous and anxious drivers feel comfortable, understand what is happening and steadily build their confidence.

 

Can you help me return to driving after an illness?

Yes. I provide specialist support for drivers returning after illness, injury or a long break from driving.

Do you offer refresher driving lessons?

Yes. Refresher lessons can be tailored around anything you would like to improve, including confidence, modern road layouts, parking, motorways and changes in driving practice.

 

Which areas do you cover?

I mainly provide lessons in Maldon and the surrounding Essex areas. Specialist medical and refresher training may also be available in other locations, depending on your circumstances.

 

How many driving lessons will I need?

Every learner is different. The number of lessons you need will depend on your previous experience, confidence, ability and whether you can practise privately between lessons.

I will regularly review your progress and clearly explain what you need to work on before taking your driving test.

Josh McDonagh – Specialist medical training helped me achieve my dream

This was a unique situation, as I originally passed my test 16 years ago using hand controls because of my neurological impairments. However, I had always dreamt of being able to drive using foot pedals.
