I am a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor specialising in automatic driving lessons, adapted driving lessons and disability driver training throughout Chelmsford, Maldon, Witham, South Woodham Ferrers, the Dengie Peninsula and the surrounding Essex areas.

Having experienced my own recovery journey following a stroke, I understand first-hand how important independence, mobility and confidence can be. This enables me to support my pupils with patience, understanding and genuine empathy.

Because I have experienced my own recovery journey following a stroke, I understand the challenges that can come with returning to driving after illness or adapting to changing mobility.

Specialist Adapted Driving Lessons

I teach in a fully adapted Ford Focus Titanium Automatic equipped with specialist driving controls designed to support a wide range of mobility requirements.

The vehicle includes:

• Brig-Ayd push/pull hand controls with indicator pin switch
• Brig-Ayd twin-flip left foot accelerator
• Bever SmartSteer steering aid with integrated secondary controls
• Bever SmartControl interface system
• Steering ball and specialist steering clamps

These adaptations allow many drivers with reduced mobility or physical disabilities to learn safely, comfortably and confidently.

Yes. I am a Motability registered instructor and specialise in adapted driving lessons for drivers with disabilities and mobility challenges.

 

Can you help drivers returning after illness or injury?

Absolutely. I regularly help drivers rebuild confidence and return safely to driving following illness, injury or changes in mobility.

 

What adaptations does your tuition vehicle have?

My Ford Focus is fitted with a range of professional adaptations including hand controls, a left-foot accelerator and specialist steering aids, allowing lessons to be tailored to many different mobility needs.
