Hello and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Angela Karen and I’m a Grade A manual driving instructor with Supreme School of Motoring, providing friendly, relaxed and professional driving lessons across Basildon, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers and Chelmsford.
I’ve loved driving for as long as I can remember, and before becoming a driving instructor I worked in corporate training and development as a coach. Becoming a driving instructor gave me the opportunity to combine two things I genuinely enjoy – driving and helping people learn, develop and grow in confidence.
For me, learning to drive should be enjoyable, relaxed and rewarding.
Whether you’re getting behind the wheel for the very first time, feeling nervous about learning to drive, or returning to driving after a break, I’ll work with you at a pace that suits you and help you become a safe, confident and independent driver.
As a mum of two boys, and through my experience in coaching and training, I understand that everybody learns differently. There isn’t one teaching style that suits everyone, so I adapt each lesson around you, your personality and the way you learn best.
My teaching style is calm, patient and client-centred, with clear explanations and plenty of encouragement along the way.
Mistakes are simply part of learning. If something doesn’t quite go to plan, we’ll talk it through calmly, look at why it happened and use it positively to improve your understanding and your driving.
I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and to enjoy your lessons, while steadily building the skills, judgement and confidence you’ll need not only to pass your driving test, but to drive safely and independently afterwards.
Lessons with me are always centred around the individual.
Some pupils like lots of explanation and discussion, while others learn best by having a go and then talking through what happened afterwards. Some people feel confident very quickly, while others need a little more time and reassurance.
That’s completely normal.
We’ll build your lessons around what works best for you, gradually developing your skills and confidence until you’re able to make safe driving decisions independently.
My aim is to create an environment where you feel relaxed enough to learn, confident enough to ask questions and supported enough to challenge yourself as your driving develops.
Passing the driving test is an important goal, but becoming a safe and confident driver for life is even more important.
I take my role as a driving instructor and coach very seriously and regularly invest in Continuing Professional Development to keep developing my knowledge and teaching skills.
Alongside achieving a Grade A as a driving instructor, I also hold a BTEC Level 4 qualification in Coaching for Driver Development.
My background in professional coaching has strongly influenced the way I teach. Rather than simply telling pupils what to do, I encourage them to think, understand situations and gradually take greater responsibility for their own driving.
This helps build the confidence, awareness and independent decision-making needed for safe driving long after the driving test is over.
Everyone starts learning to drive from a different place, so Angela’s lessons are always adapted around the individual.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, feeling nervous about getting behind the wheel, returning to driving after a break, or simply looking to build your confidence, Angela will help you progress at a pace that feels comfortable and achievable.
Her calm, patient and coaching-based approach means lessons are not just about being told what to do. Angela encourages pupils to understand situations, think for themselves and gradually become more confident making safe decisions independently.
