Founded in 1974 by Mary Robinson, Supreme School of Motoring has been providing professional driving lessons across Maldon, Essex, and surrounding areas for over 50 years.
What began as a small local driving school quickly built a reputation for friendly, reliable, and high-quality driving tuition. In 1987, Mary’s son Pete qualified as a driving instructor, shortly followed by her daughter Kay, creating a unique family-run driving school built on trust, experience, and community values.
After many successful years teaching learners across Essex, Mary stepped aside in 2007 and Pete and Jane took over the running of Supreme School of Motoring. Since then, the school has continued to grow through reputation and recommendation, becoming one of the most respected and established driving schools in the area.
Today, Supreme School of Motoring has a large team of professional DVSA-approved driving instructors offering both manual and automatic driving lessons across Essex and Hertfordshire. Despite our growth, we continue to maintain the friendly, personal approach that has been at the heart of the business since 1974.

We also work closely with the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP), with some of our instructors helping deliver Safe and Considerate Driving Courses throughout Essex.
