My name is Anita Mainwaring and I am a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor providing manual driving lessons throughout Witham, Maldon, Chelmsford and the surrounding Essex areas.

I am passionate about helping people learn to drive and gain the confidence, independence and safe driving skills that come with holding a full driving licence.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual learner.

Whether you are a complete beginner, returning to lessons after a break, preparing for your driving test or looking to improve your confidence behind the wheel, I will help you progress at a pace that works for you.

Every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style around your personality, experience, confidence and preferred way of learning.

My aim is to create a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at a pace that suits you.

If something does not make sense straight away, I will explain it in a different way and break it down into manageable steps.

Do you teach complete beginners?

Yes. Many of my pupils begin with no previous driving experience.

I will guide you through every stage, beginning with the basic controls and gradually progressing as your confidence and ability develop.

 

Do you teach nervous drivers?

Yes. I work with learners of all confidence levels, including people who have experienced driving anxiety or difficult lessons in the past.

I adapt each lesson to help you feel comfortable, supported and able to progress without unnecessary pressure.

 

What car will I learn in?

You will learn in a modern Volkswagen Polo manual.

It is comfortable, safe and easy to drive, making it an excellent tuition car for both beginners and experienced learners.

Can lessons fit around work or family commitments?

I always try to be as flexible as possible when arranging lessons.

Availability will depend on my diary, but I will work with you to find suitable lesson times wherever possible.

 

How many driving lessons will I need?

Every learner is different. The number of lessons you need will depend on your previous experience, confidence, ability and whether you can practise privately between lessons.

I will regularly review your progress and clearly explain what you need to work on before taking your driving test.
